The chart provide information about the composition of 3 nutrients that are contained in typical meal eaten by US citizens.
Overall, human body receives the greatest supply of added sugar from the source of snack while sodium and saturated fat can be found mostly in dinner. The most striking part is that, regardless of the type of nutrient, an excessive consumption of any or all may lead to potential health risk for individuals.
Concerning the first type of nutrient, added sugar, snack provides the lion’s share of total amount, doubling the figure of dinner which is shown to be the runner up with 23%. Lunch and breakfast supply a lesser amount of this nutrient, together accounting for one-third of the entire provision.
It is also noticable that people will gain the largest propotion of sodium and saturated fat from dinner. The figures are 43% and 37% for the former and the later nutrients, respectively. For sodium, breakfast and snack provide the least percentage of just 14%. Howerver, for saturated fat, only breakfast allow an individual to consume less than 20% of total amount of this nutrients.
