In general, the amount of additives in each meals differs considerably. More specifically, the majority of sodium and saturated fat is consumed at dinner while that of sugar is in snacks.
As shown from the charts, breakfast contains the least of these unhealthy nutrients ( 14% for sodium and 16% for saturated fat and sugar). Snacks and breakfast consist of a mere 14% of sodium while the figures for saturated fat are slightly higher with the former outnumbering the latter by 5%. In contrast, dinner meals are rich in sodium and saturated fat but are lower in sugar; 43%, 37% and 23% respectively while lunch comes second with 29%, 26% and 19% respectively. There is a vast 42% of added sugar in snacks whereas the figure for breakfast is only 16%.
