The charts below show the changes in ownership of electrical appliances and amount of time spent doing housework and households in one country between 1920 and 2019.

The line graphs demonstrate the proportion of households with electrical equipment and the amount of time for housework per household in a country over the period of 99 years. Seen together, it seems that there was a negative correlation between the percentage of owning electrical appliances and the time housework spent.
It can be observed that a significant increase in the rate of households owning electrical equipment was recorded in the first chart. About 30% and 40% of households used refrigerator and washing machine in 1920 respectively; the figure had a moderate rise to 70% in 1960. The figure for vacuum cleaners underwent a dramatic increase from 0% to 90% in 1960. There was a slight change in the proportion of households having electrical equipment in three machines with about 65% in washing machine and 100% in the two remaining appliances.
Overall the second graph showed a downward trend in the number of hours each household spent on housework. With 50 hours spent on housework in 1920, a remarkable decline was shown in 1960, when housework time per week decreased from 50 hours to 20 hours. This was followed by a small fall to around 10 hours in 2019.
