The line graphs highlight information about the percentage of electrical appliances owners and the amount of time that was spent on housework and households in one surveyed country from 1920 to 2019
It is noticeable that there was a significant increase in the percentage of households with Washing machine, Refrigerator and Vacuum cleaner. Especially, the proportion of Vacuum cleaner grew the most.
Looking at the first line graph in more detail, in 1920, no one used the refrigerator while the percentage of owners who had washing machines was the highest, with 40%, as opposed to only 30% for the vacuum cleaner. From 1920 to 1980, the percentage of refrigerators increased considerably to 100% and remained stable after that. In addition, the information of washing machine grew sharply to 70% before decined slightly to 62% in 1980. After that, it went up slightly and reached 75% in the last year. As for the figure of vacuum cleaner ownership, after climbed slowly to 70% in 1970, it overtook that of washing machine and ranked 2nd. Following this, the rate continued to rise and reached its peak at 100% in 2000.
Regarding the second graph, the number of hours for weekly housework went down substantially from 50 hours in 1920 to 10 hours in 2019.
