The charts below show how selected age groups bought concert, cinema and theatre tickets online over the first three months of 2013 in three countries and how the Internet was accessed.
The chart above illustrates how many people in two age groups on three different countries bought online box office tickets such as concert, cinema and theatre, while the chart below provides information about what devices were used to buy these tickets.
Overall, younger people, who from 25-44 years old, were more likely to purchase tickets on websites than older group in both Australia and the UK, while the pattern was reserved in Malaysia. In addition, people of all three countries had the tendency to finish the purchasing on Desktop computers rather than mobile phones.
Australia and the UK figures, in both age demographics, were almost identical. To be precise, about 50% of Australian and British people at age 25 to 44 bought their seats online. Likewise, the figure of 65+ years old Australian was around 45%, while the British was slightly lower, with just 40%. In contrast, Malaysian from 25-44 years old proportion was hardly lower than the elder demographic, with just under 40% and exactly 40%, respectively.
As regards the chart below, a majority of people in three nations bought these tickets from desktop computers and these figures were doubled the mobile phones. In order words, the percentages of computer were varied from about 60% to 65%, with Australia was the highest among the three. Meanwhile, mobile phone proportions were mostly under 30%. Whilst it is noticeable that Malaysia and Australia had the same proportion in Laptop device at 40%, the UK figure was just about 30%.
