Regarding north america and europe, industrial use is the main purpose of using water in both areas, taking up 48% and 53% respectively. A close similarity can be seen in the figures for water consumption for agriculture in north america and europe, which accounted for 39% and 32% respectively. Whereas north america was lower than europe in terms of water is used for domestic about 2%.

In terms of the four remaining regions, Central asia had the consumption of water for agriculture reached a peak of 88%.
