The six charts below give information on water consuming purposes from six regions of the globe. Information is shown for industrial use, agriculture use and domestic use by percentage.
Overall, it is visible from the charts that most of the regions tend to use the minority of water for industries except for the consumption in North America and Europe where the majority of water is used for industrial purposes. To start with, the consumption in North America seems to have the same tendency with European countries where the figures are generally the same with the use for industries took approximately half of the chart and over one-third of the charts are overtaken by the percentage of water used for farming. Additionally, the figures for housing purposes of central Asia and Southeast Asia is also equal, which is 7%. Agriculture uses of the central and Southeast Asia are also has slight difference with 88% and 81% respectively.
Africa and South America, in contrast, has significant differences. For instance, the percentage of water used by African households is 9% which is 10% less than in South America. However, the amount of water for farming in Africa is higher than in South America with 84% and 71% respectively. The water resource consumed for industries of the two regions has less difference with 10% in South America and 7% in Africa.
