While Asia possesses minimal 2.89% of oil resources in the world, it is world's largest consumer. United States is the second largest consumer at 25.48 percent. Africa's consumption stood at 3.35 percent, which is nearly twice as little as its possession of resources in the world. Australia and New Zealand have the lowest consumption of paltry 1.31% which is slightly above the proportion of oil resources it holds.
