The charts below show what UK graduate and postgraduate students who did not go into full-time did after leaving college in 2008.

The graph illustrates the career options opted by graduate and postgraduate students after completing degree excluding full-time work in the year 2008.

Overall, the majority of students from both streams decided to continue education, whereas very few were interested in volunteering. Unemployment was also famous among students of both streams.

Both graphs were similar to each other in terms of the popularity of the destination. The first choice of students from each stream was further study, which accounted for 29,665 after finalizing graduate degree and 2,725 after competition of postgraduate degree. Part-time work was the second destination which attracted a significant number of students after completing graduate and postgraduate degrees (17,735 and 2,535 respectively).

Although unemployment was popular among students of both streams, but it was higher for undergraduate degree students (16,235) compared to students of master degree (1,625). Lastly, voluntary work was the least opted career option, indicating 3500 students after finishing graduate degree and for postgraduate degree number was 345.
