The given pie charts illustrates the modifications in the percentage of energy produced from distinctive sources in a1985 and 2003.
Overall, in 1985 oil was the most used source of energy production, followed by nuclear, natural gas and lastly coal. By 2003, the proportion of energy produced from oil declined remarkably but was still the most used, hydro remained unchanged while the percentage of energy produced from natural gas and coal witnessed an upward trend.
In 1985, the proportion of energy processed from oil occupied over a half of the total, though it had declined to 39% by 2003. Similarly, nuclear was also the second most common sources of energy with the figure being recorded at 22% and plummeted to 8% over the next 18 years.
On the contrary, the starting point of coal and natural gas was lower with 8% and 13% respectively which would increased to the nearly identical figure (22% and 23%). Energy produced from hydro accounted for 4% in 1985 and remained unchanged in 1985, while other renewable energy was not a popular source of energy (1%) in 2003 and rose to 4% in 2003
