The figures present the variations in the percentage of fastfood eaten by teens in Australia from 1975 and 25 years after. It is clearly seen that there was a decrease in consumptions of fish and chips while the other two types increased.
In 1975, the most popular ready to go food was fish and chips with 100% consumption but it suffered a fluctuation in 1980 where it dropped to 85% but it rose again after 5 years reaching 90%. It then continously fell over the period until it ends below 50% almost half from the amount it started.
The opposite, however, happened to pizzas and hamburgers which both had the same pattern. These 2 types started just below 10% more than fourfolds of the starting value of fish and chips. Pizzas steadily rose up to 83% in 1995 then plateaued after 5 years while hamburgers rocketed in 1985 with 84% then subsequently grew until 2000 where it reached 100% making it the leading fastfood type leaving fish and chips behind.
