The flow chart illustrates the lifespan of salmon fish. Overall, the process will be divided into three following stages.
In the first stage, adult salmons have to swim to the upper river. Then, they lay a number of eggs in the water areas with many reeds and small stones, where the river`s flow is not fast. Once eggs hatch out, over the next 5-6 months baby salmons can grow to 3-8 cm length and become the fry.
In the following stage, the fry goes down along the river and live in the lower river, where the flow of the river is really fast. After this, during a four-year period fry grows 12-15 cm long so-called smolt.
Finally, the smolt swims to open sea, where they live approximately 5 years and become the adult salmon with 70 to 76 cm length. Then, adult salmons go back to the upper river, where they hatched out and the life cycle is repeated.
