The pictures illustrates how central heating system in a house works. Overall, there are 2 ways to make the hot water. Both ways have 4 stages, started with entering the water into house and ended in the taps.

First, cold water enters into house through the roof. Then, the water from the roof will pass through the storage tank, and will be put inside the water tank. However, if the water tank is full, the water will be placed in the storage tank until the water tank is not full anymore. The water tank will be heated by the sun in the afternoon. After the water getting hots, it will be flow through the pipe and ready to use.

The other way is from the house ground. The cold water which is entered from the ground will through the hot water radiators and pump. After that, the water will enter the boiler to be heated. Before it flows in the pipe, the water will be keep in the storage tank. While the sink want to be used, the water will directly pass through the pipe and exit through the sink.
