The diagram explains how to produce electricity from water in a hydroelectric power station.
It can be clearly seen that, the river must be hold back by a dam, creating a high-level reservoir behind it. There is an intake which is under the dam and it is opened only daytime, and is closed at night to the water flows out into the river below the dam during pumping. From that intake water flows through a line of pipe that is biased. Then water comes to the reversible turbines, operating the generator and creates electricity to the national grid that it attached with power lines. Next water is released to low-level reservoir. Finally, at night, water is pumped from reversible turbines into high-level reservoir.
In general, the process begins with the water flows from river into a high-level reservoir and ends with the transmission of power lines to national grid.
