Essay topics:

The diagram below shows the life cycle of the kiwi (animal)

The diagram illustrates various stages in life of the kiwi. Overall, there are 10 stages in the transformation of kiwi, from birth to maturity.
The life cycle of kiwi begins with the laying of an egg by the female kiwi. Kiwi eggs are quite large, accounting for about 20% of the female’s body. After that, the eggs are incubated and after a certain length of time, the eggs start breaking. Once the egg hatches, a small and fluffy kiwi chick emerges. At that time, it is incredibly vulnerable at this stage and relies on its parents for protection and care. For several weeks, the hatchling can stand up, gradually growing stronger and more independent. However, at that time, kiwi was too young to protect itself from enemies so that’s why 95% of kiwi chicks are killed by stoats in their first six months of life. Following this, when it enters the juvenile stage, it starts venturing out of the burrow, exploring its surroundings, and learning essential survival skills from its father. After learning some necessary skills, the chick leaves parents’ territory.
During the seventh stage of the life cycle, when the males are 2 - 5 years old, the females are 3 - 5 years old, the kiwi transitions into the adult stage and establishes its territory. The next step is when it is fully independent and ready to breed. In the subsequent stage, the adult kiwi finds a mate, and engages in the breeding process. After that, a couple of kiwi dig a burrow, build the nest and start the reproductive process. Female kiwis typically lay one or two eggs per breeding season. Once the final stage has been completed, the life begins anew.
