The diagram represents the rock cycle. Write a university report of not less than 150 words.
The given diagram illustrates the information about formation of rocks and their complete cycle.
Overview, there are three major types of rocks that are igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic which formed under various natural conditions such as erosion and deposition.
Firstly, when the volcano erupts, the molten magma reaches the earth’s surface. This lava cools quickly and form igneous rock which again rises slowly to higher surface. Secondly, when rain water pours on this rock then it erodes into sand and stones resulting in deposition on lower surface in form of sediments. Now these sediments turned into sedimentary rocks. Thirdly, under high temperature and pressure, sedimentary rocks converted into metamorphic rocks. Lastly, when level of temperature and pressure rises further then metamorphic rocks transform into magma which is the initial state, thus, completing the rock cycle. Apart from this, sedimentary and metamorphic rocks can also change their form to other rocks when it rises slowly to surface.
