The diagram illustrates how electricity is produced in a geothermal power plan.

A brief glance reflects that, overall production electricity through this method involves five steps, starting by pumping cold water down into the earth and culminates in electricity generation generator unit.

To begin with, during the first phase cold water is pumped down into the depth of 4.5 km from the surface of the earth to a zone that called, the injection well. In second stage, while water pass through hot rocks in geothermal zone, its temperature increase. In the third step, the production well, hot water is pumped up into the surface.

In the fourth stage, after reaching to the top, condenser change hot water into the steam and it is transferred to turbine and rotates the turbine ,in the next stage. Finally the generator ,which is powered by turbine, produces electricity then it is transferred into electric grid via power tower.
