The diagrams illustrate the development process of a species of large fish, namely the salmon.
Overall, it is clear that there are three different stages of salmon’s life cycle, beginning with salmon eggs and ending with salmon adults.
As can be seen, the salmon eggs are laid in the upper river where the flow moves slowly and can be found among small stones under the reeds. Then, after approximately 5 to 6 months, the eggs hatch and become “fry” 3-8 cm long. Next, the fry moves to the lower river where water flows faster and lives there for about four years before undergoing further physical changes.
At the next stage, baby fish become young adults called molt with the length of 12-15 cm. After that, they spend nearly 5 years living in the open sea and then grow up adult salmons of 70-76 cm in length. After reaching this stage, they find mates and return to the upper river for reproduction. The life cycle of salmon begins again.
