The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The given figures illustrate artificial linear processes of producing cement and concrete for the purposes of construction. The cement-making process begins with limestone and clay being crushed and ends with packaged bags of cement. The product of the cement-making process is then combined with some other components to make concrete.
As can be seen in the first picture, the procedure of cement production involves 4 main stages. Firstly, limestone and clay are put into a crusher to be finer. Next, the fine powder is mixed and transferred to a rotating heater with heat resource being supplied at the end of the heater. After that, the powder becomes a hot material and drops in a grinder to turn into cement. Finally, the cement is packed into bags and used later for concrete production.
In the second picture, there are 4 types of materials compounded in the process of concrete-making. The typically mixed design proportion are 15 % of cement, 10% of water, 25% of fine aggregate, and 50% of coarse aggregate. All the provided materials are finally poured in a mixer to produce concrete. The concrete is then used for constructing houses, bridges, or etc.
