The diagrams below show the water supply system in Australia at the present and the future. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The diagrams reveal the current water supply system in Australia and the plan for that in the future.

In general, what stands out from the diagram is that the change in the water supply system is based on the recycling of water usage in the city.

At present, the process commences with the water stored in the dam. Then the pure water would be transferred to the city to be used by households, factories, and shops. After that, the wasted water from the dam and city was sent to the water treatment plant to be processed. At the same time, the stormwater from the city went straight to the river. After being processed, the water was also released into the river.

In the future system, the process will begin at the storage, then pure water will be provided for the residents for many purposes. Next, all the storm water and waste water will go to the water treatment plant instead of the river in the current system. After going through the treatment, that water will be supplied for people and the process starts again from there.
