energy consumption

Essay topics:

energy consumption

The pie charts show sources of energy consumption and the resulting greenhouse gasses in an Australian household. The first pie chart shows the different ways energy is consumed in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the sources of greenhouse gas emission also for an average Australian household.
The biggest amount of energy is used in heating the house which is 42%, then the water heating with 30%. While the least consuming energy source is cooling which only represents 2% of the consumed power.
The amount of greenhouse gas emissions is not directly proportional to the consumed energy for each appliance. Water heating possesses the most percentage of gas emissions production while heating itself emits only 15% about one third the percentage of energy it consumes. Cooling remains the least appliance producing greenhouse gasses.
Finally, other appliances contribute to gas emissions with about double its percentage of energy consumption.
