The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
There are two pie charts given in the passage namely 'Australian household energy use' and 'Australian household greenhouse gas emissions'. As their title states first chart depicts which components comprise of how much energy consumption and the second one which of those components contribute to how much green gas emissions.
To begin with first pie chart, water heating contributes 30%, household's energy consumption, Refrigeration 7% , Lighting 4% and cooling 2%. However, the highest energy use is in heating which 42% of the households use 'Other Appliances' which could mean any electrical or heating appliances contribute 15% of Australian households usage.
The second pie chart depicts that water heating is 32% contributer to greenhouse gas followed by 'Othe Appliances' at 28%. Cumulatively, these two are primary, precisely 60% contributor of greenhouse gas. Whereas, refrigeration, lighting, cooling and heat are 14%, 8%, 3% and 15% respective contributor's of green house gas. It can be concluded that cooling is least energy
and greenhouse gas contributor.
