The two pie charts depicts the expenditure of different catagories which was spent by americans between 1966 and 1996.

Overall , in America the highest percentage of money spent on food and cars . Whereas , the lowest expenditure were books and computers .

To start with , in year 1966 44% amount of money spent on food . This percentage was reduced in 1996 by 30 . Further , the proportion of cars was 23 in 1966 , later it upsurged almost double . Furthermore , the cost of petrol , there was slight decline in 1996.

Moving further , the expenses of restaurants was 7 percentage in 1966 but in 1996 the cost increased sharply to 14 . The percentage of furniture was almost same throughout the years . while , in the year 1966 the cost of computers was minor , the percentage increased steadily by 9 in 1996 . The expenses of books from 1966 to 1996 was 6 , 14 percent respectively .
