The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030 Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant

The line graph illustrates what amount of energy consumed in USA from non-renewable and renewable resources in 1980 compared with projection year 2030.

overall, the consumption of energy from almost all the resources grows maximum except hydropower and solar/wind. Significantly, petrol and fuel became the dominant source of energy over the given period.

In terms of petrol and fuel, the consumption from this resources increased gradually, experiencing some fluctuations, from 35Q.D in 1980 to around 45 in 2020.The figure is expected to rise alomst 50 Q.D till 2030. Similarly, in 1980,coal and natural gas consumptions were at around 17 and 20 respectively. Surprisingly, both derived increase collectively and reached 25Q.D till 2016. It is projected that the figure for coal will take a rise of 5Q.D, and for natural gas remain stable at almost 25 by 2030.

In case of remaining sources, nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower contributed less in energy from past to future. The figure for nuclear rose mildly from around 4Q.D in 1980 to 6Q.D in 2020.This figure is expected to stay at around 7 by 2030.Till 1990, solar/ wind and hydro consumptions were at equal (5Q.D).By 2030, both are projected to stay below 5Q.D.
