The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the USA since 1980 with projections until 2030
The graph illustrates the consumption of energy fuel in the USA in the 1980s with a prediction for 2030. The data are measured in quadrillion units. Overall, it can be seen that the data are predicted no change along five decades although, the energy of petrol and oil and coal increased gradually.
Moving to a more detailed analysis, the energy of petrol and coal was higher than five of energy during a quarter-century. from the 1980s to 2010 the number of petrol and coal was fluctuated, representing around 35 quadrillion units. In the same period, people in the USA was consumed energy by coal and natural gas which were a fair increase of approximately 25 quadrillion units, yet natural gas began lower than coal almost 15 quadrillion units. Initially, the energy of nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower remained constant about 5 quadrillion units, it was a low level of energy throughout decades.
Moreover, in prediction 2010s to 2030, the amount of petrol and oil will a dramatic jump roughly 50 quadrillion unit along thirty years. Afterwards, people are spending energy by coal which will be a gradual growth, accounting for over 25 quadrillion units. Subsequently, there is a steady rise in the consumption of natural gas in 2015, but the trend is predicted stable in the last years. In the future, the percentages of energy nuclear, solar/wind and hydropower will have constant levels.
