The line graph analyses the usage patterns of different forms (six types) of energy from 1980 to projectile consumption of energy till 2030 in the United States of America from a report back in 2008. The consumption units are measured in quadrillions.
Overall, there is slight increase in all the forms of energy consumed or future consumption except for Hydro power.
We could also infer from the graph that as there is a substantial increase in consumption patterns in combination of petrol and oil and in coal, these two would stand as the major sources of energy in the near future.
According to the line graph, although Petrol and Oil have a lot of fluctuations in the consumption pattern from 35 million quadrillion to 34 quadrillion in 1995, since then there is a steady rise in consumption till 2030 and is predicted to have a consumption of about 43 quadrillion. Coal's consumption has steadily risen from 16 quadrillion and is almost projected to reach the double of initial consumption to about 31 quadrillion units.
As for Natural gas there isn't a drastic consumption change compared to the above mentioned energy sources change predicted but only a change of about 2 quadrillion form 30 to 32. As for Nuclear, Solar/Wind, Hydro power all the consumption pattern starts at around 4 quadrillion but nuclear energy has a slight increase in demand to 5 quadrillion. Solar/Wind have only a increase of 0.5 consumption predicted with Hydro power taking a dip in consumption in the future.
