The graph below gives information about total oil use of 4 main consumers from 2009 to 2030
The line graph compares four different consumers in terms of using oil between 2009 and 2030, measured in millions barrels per day.
Overall, it is clear that the amount of oil consumed by the US and Western Europe and Japan is predicted to decrease over the period shown. Otherwise, the figures for China and the Middle East are expected to increase.
From 2009 to 2015, the US consumed around 10 million barrels per day. However, the amount of daily oil consumption decreased to over 9 million barrels and are predicted to steadily fall to slightly over 4 million barrels. Western Europe and Japan also witness a reduction of using oil from below 4 million barrels per day in 2009 to over 2 million barrels in 2030.
In contrast, two other consumers see an increase in consuming oil over the period of 31 years. From the similar figure of slightly under 2 million barrels per day in 2009, the amount of daily oil used by China and the Middle East is expected to over 3 million barrels and around 3 million barrels respectively.
