The given bar chart indicates the statistics taken from a study showing the choices after finishing school of a thousand pupils from 2008 to 2012. Overall, the highest choice interchangeably varied between becoming an employee or engage in higher academic places. In contrast, taking a gap year is still the least prevalent one throughout almost the showed time.
In 2008, high school leavers followed the trend of working, thus making half of the pupils’ choice is to become a worker. In addition, 2009 and 2012 also experience the same trend of switching to the working environment, both received roughly 400 people. Nonetheless, there was a change in 2010 and 2011 when the predominant pathway is attending academic institutions. 2010 witnessed a rise in school leavers participating in colleges of about 50 in comparison to 2009, thereafter this statistic slightly decreased to 480 in 2011.
As mentioned above, the proportion which indicates temporarily leaving school was merely one-fifth in 2008. However, the trend for this pathway witnessed a considerable escalation annually, ended up in 2011 gaining approximately 300 pupils taking a gap year and remain stable in 2012. Whereas the trend for two remained groups fluctuated through the given period.
