The graph provides information about the USA's employment patterns between 1930 and 2010.
There are two basic general trends, downward and upward. Regarding the former, the employment in Farming, fishing and Foresting fell dramatically from more than 70 per cent to almost about 5 in 2010. It experienced a gradual decrease over the first four decades, followed by a significant drop by the end of the period.
In contrast, employment rate in the other spheres went up by varying degrees. The employment pattern in both industrial and technical rocketed significantly. Concerning the first, it remained unchanged over 40 years, followed by a sudden rise in 1970. It continued to rise, levelling off in the last ten years and going up from zero percent to higher than 30 percent. Furthermore, the trend in technical also surged, rising from zero to about 30 per cent. Lastly, the trend in sales and office experienced fluctuations throughout the whole period, however, it was still upward.
It is clear that only the employment pattern in farming, fishing and foresting subsided with time, while it increased for the rest.
