The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria between 1995 to 2005.
The line graph illustrates the amount of money which the people spent on books in four different countries during the period from 1995 to 2005.
Overall, it is clear that the people in Germany spent more money on books than other countries. However, over 10-year period, spending on books increased in all nations.
It can be seen that in 1995, about $80 million which people in germany spent on books. The figures of spending on books in France and Italy were lower, at about $55 million and approximately $50 million respectively in 1995. The amount of money which was spent on book in Austria was the least, at less than $50 million in 1995. By contrast, the spending figure on books in Germany continued to be higher and reached a peak of about $95 million in 2005.
There was steady increase in the amount of money on books in France, and finally reached to about $75 million in 2005. This was similar to the figure for Austria, where the money spent on books rose sharply from $40 million in 2001 to $72 million in 2005. In Italy, spending on books saw a gradual increase during the period, reaching a final figure of just over $60 million.
