The graph below shows annual water usage (in millions of cubic meters) by industries in some country.
The given bar chart indictaes the annual water consumption of seven different industries in a particular country. As is observed, chemicals industry generally consumed the largest amount of water, while fuel industry needed the lowest quatity of water. Moreover, the majority of industries used more ground water than public supply water.
As can be seen, among seven industries, chemicals industry consumed the highest volume of both ground and public supply water, 430 and 240 millions of cubic meters respectively. The quantities required by metal and paper industries were almost twice less than that by chemicals industry, with 240 and 190 millions of cubic meters of ground water per year accordingly. That figures for public supply water were only 30 and 20 millions of cubic meters, which were far lower than ground water usage. The water consumption of other industries, including fuel, and textiles, were only around 80 and 10 millions of cubic meters per year for ground water and public supply water correspondingly.
In contrast, public supply water demand of food/drinks and machinery industries was mcuh greater than demand for ground water. The figures recorded of food/beverages industry were 190 and 110 millions of cubic meters. Machinery industry reported 100 millions of public water usage and only 10 millions of ground water requirement.
