It is clear that the United Kingdom has the largest average personal carbon dioxide production during these 40 years. The average carbon dioxide emission in the United Kingdom and Sweden declined gradually during this period of time, while that emission in Italy and Portugal rose steadily at the same time.
In 1967, carbon dioxide personal emission in the United Kingdom was about 11 metric tons, and the average carbon dioxide emission in Sweden was 9 metric tons. The United Kingdom’s carbon dioxide personal production remained the same in 1977, but the figure for Sweden rose by 1.2 metric tons this year. The amount of average carbon dioxide production in the United Kingdom and Sweden had decreased during the following 30 years, with 8.5 metric tons and 5.8 metric tons respectively.
In 1967, the average carbon dioxide emission in Italy was almost above 4 metric tons, compared to this figure for Portugal was about 1 metric ton. Over the 30-year period, these amounts had increased steadily. By 2007, average carbon dioxide production in Italy and Portugal had reached their peak at 7.8 metric tons and 5.5 metric tons respectively.
