The graph below shows the average number of Vietnamese students studying in France, Russia and America between 2000 and 2015.

Writing task 1

The line graph illustrates the average number of students from vietnam who enrolled in three different countries, namely france, russia and america over a 15-year period, starting from 2000.

Overall, it is clear that the number of vietnamese students studying in america and france both increased while the opposite was true for that in russia. also, the year 2010 marks the point at which the number of vietnamese student enrolling in america overtook that in france and russia.

In 2000, up to 3.5 million students attended French schools, which was also the highest figure in that year, followed by the figure for students studying in france and russia, at 1.5 million and 3 million respectively. over the next 5 years, the average number of vietnamese students enrolling in russia and france both declined considerably by roughly 1 million. A significant growth to 2 million was witnessed in the figure for students from vietnam who attended American schools in 2005.

From 2005 onwards, there was a substantial increase to 3 million in the number of vietnamese students studying in america in 2010. By contrast, the figure for students enrolling russia hit the lowest point of 1.8 million before recovering to 2.5 million in 2015, whereas that for france remained unchanged, and then climbed significantly to 4.5 million until the end of the period.
