The given bar chart illustrates the contributions made by three different sector agriculture, industry and services in the economy of India from the year 1960 to 2000.
Looking at the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that contribution by agriculture in India's GDP followed a downward trend, on the contrary, the progressive trend has been followed by the services over the given period.
Having a glimpse at the illustration reveals that agriculture was the most contributed sector by more than 60 percents in the former year as compared to less than fourth by industry and services. The figures of industry and service started to go up in 1970 and contributed 20 percents and 24 percents respectively, whereas the agriculture sector was decreased by 10 percents from the previous year.
Shifting to the remaining data, the figure for agriculture dipped by 3 percents, while industry and service sector elevate by 3 percents in the year 1980. Contributions by the services overwhelmingly rose in the year 1990, but the growth of industry remain stagnated till 2000. In the later year, agriculture became the least contributed sector and services was on the too.
