The graph below shows the differences in wheat exports over three different areas. Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information shown below.
The line graph illustrates the wheat export trends in Australia, Canada and European Community during the period between 1985 and 1990.
It is obvious from the line graph that Canada was the dominating country in the amount of exported wheat until the late 1988 when being exceeded by European Community.
Over 5-year period, the level of exported wheat in Canada experienced some dramatic fluctuation. After a slight decrease from 1985 to 1986, it jumped at high speed and reached the peak of 25 millions of tones in 1988. Unpredictably, in the next year, it fell to the bottom of nearly 15 millions of tones and then recovered in 1990.
It is worth noticing that the wheat export trends of Australia and European Community had opposite tendency. Apart from a reduction from 1985 to 1986, the amount of exported wheat in Australia maintained the stability with 15 millions of tones in the next 2 years before increasing rapidly to 21 millions of tones in 1990. By contrast, wheat export level in European Community reached the top with 16 millions of tones in 1986, which is followed by a steady fall.
