The line chart reveals how many abroad students from the four different countries to Australia. Overall, all categories witnessed an upward trend during these years surveyed.

The number of students going abroad in Malaysia stayed well beyond the others in the first year, at about 5 number of students in 1000s. However, this value possessed the third highest among all in the last year, at proximately 27 number of students in 1000s. Regarding the remaining categories, the figure for Indonesia, Hong Kong, and Singapore were at the same starting point, standing at about 2 number of students in 1000s in 1982. There was a similar pattern can be seen in the number of Indonesian and Hong Kong students. To be exact, the former reached its highest point at over 20 while the latter rose to a peak at above 20 number of students in 1000s in 2000. Although possessed the same initial value as the category of “Indonesia” and “Hong Kong”, the figure for Singapore showed a noticeable growth, increasing to 20 number of students in 1000s in the last year.
