The bar chart provides information regarding the percentage of employment in Australia, Switzerland, Iceland, New Zealand, UK, and USA over the period of 1995 to 2005.
Overall, it is obvious that over this time frame, employment rate of male was higher than that of female. Besides, 2005 witnessed a considerable increase of people who had a job compared to the figures in 1995. It is noticeable that Switzerland and Iceland had the highest number of employment over 10-year period.
Look at the information in more detail, we can see that in 1995, male employment reached the biggest rate in Iceland (70%), followed by Switzerland (65%) while New Zealand and USA had nearly the same employment rate at 60%. The lowest rate of male employment in 1995 is Australia and UK, with only 55%. Female employment rate experienced a little bit different trend in 1995 when the highest rate is Switzerland at 55%, the second position is UK at 50%, followed by USA (45%), Iceland (40%), Australia (28%), and New Zealand (27%).
Positively, in 2005, the percentage of employment of male was the highest in Switzerland and Iceland, with 82% and 78%, respectively while the other four countries was at a similar rate of approximately 70%. About employment rate of female in 2005, Switzerland was still at the biggest number of 68%. The lower rates was female employment in UK, Iceland, USA, and NZ and the lowest employment rate of female was Australia at 38%.
