The graph below shows population figures for India and China since the year 2000 and predicted population growth up until 2050.
The presented line graph demonstrates the number of people in two different countries, namely India and China over the period of half century, starting from 2000 to 2050. Units are measured in billions for each one year.
The most striking feature to be observed is that, whilst China accounted for the highest number of people at the beginning of period, scientists forecast population rate of India will outnumber that of China towards the end of the survey.
Looking at the data in more detail, it is clear that in 2000, there were more people living in China than in India. The number of Chinese was about 1.25 billion, while the latter was 1 billion. Between 2000 and present, there has been a 0.32 billion rise in the number of Indian citizens. Over the same period, population of China has increased by 0.18 to reach the point of approximately 1.43 billion.
Turning to rest of description, it is expected that population growth in India will increase more quickly than in China. Experts are estimated that by 2030, both countries’ figures will be the same amount of 1.45 billion. After this, China’s population is likely to fall steadily the number of 1.4 billion, while India’s population will increase and reach 1.6 billion.
