The graph below shows predictions about the number of people who will study three major world languages between 2020 and 2030. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The following graph illustrates the estimated number of people who will learn three famous languages over a ten-year period, between 2020 and 2030. Three languages are namely English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there will be upward trends in the overall number of learners in all three languages in the coming years. Another interesting point is that the popularity of Mandarin is expected to result in a massive increase of almost 40 million in 2030.

Looking at details, as regards English, it was the most popular language with 550 million students in 2020. Expectations show that it will go up steadily, reaching 700 million in 2024. Despite dropping half a million in 2 years of time, there will be a consistent incline to over 700 million by 2030.

As for Spanish, there will be a similar trend. The number of Spanish learners is expected to have risen consistently to 500 million over a decade period.

If we look at Mandarin students, it is projected to rocket sharply from a hundred million to around 350 million in 2026, becoming the second-joint well-known language with Spanish. Then, it will grow to nearly 600 million by 2030.
