Essay topics:

The graph below shows the production levels of main fuels in a European country from 1981 to 2000. Measured in tonnes.

Given is the line graph revealing the level of production of 3 types of fuels, namely: petroleum, coal and natural gas in a European country between 1981 and 2000.
Overall, it is immediately apparent that the production levels of petroleum was the highest, while the amount of natural gas showed an upward trend dramtically during the period.
As can be seen from the graph, in 1981, the amount of petroleum was by far the highest produced, with 100 tonnes. It then rose rapidly to reach around 130 tonnes over the next few years before dropped sharply to under 100 tonnes in 1989. Additionally, it suddenly increased to around 130 tonnes and fluctuated slightly until the end of the period.
Turning to other remaining groups, coal was the second most-produced fuel in 1981, at 80 tonnes. Again, this fuel dropped dramatically at 50 tonnes in 1985; then, peaked in over few years before it slowly declining over the next 13 years to just under 40 tonnes. In contrast, ranking last was natural gas, which remained steady at 40 tonnes around 1991 when it began to rise exponentially
