The graph represents the percentage of old aged citizens in three developed countries USA, Sweden, and Japan, in the timeline of 1940 to 2040.

Overall, as the graph depicts, Japan was the lowest old-aged population country but it was estimated to be the highest in the future. However, the USA was vice versa among all three countries.

To begin with, Japan was recorded almost 5% for over 65 population in 1940, but it was decreased in 1960 by around 2% and remain constant till 1980. From the mid of 1980, it gradually increased and reached up to 5% again in 2000. But, after 2000, it starts increasing dramatically, however it was estimated over 25% in 2040. It was also estimated as the highest old aged rate.

Secondly, Sweden was accounted for roughly 7% in 1940 and increased slightly by 1% in 1960. In 1980, it climbed up to around 15%, after that with some fluctuation 20% in 2000 and guessed around 25% in 2040 was made.

Furthermore, the USA was approximately 9% in 1940, which was the highest, and start increasing till 1980, which was set 15%. Whereas, from 1980 to 2020, there is a slight decrease in the proportion of old age in the USA. But after 2020, it was estimated to increase the population of over 65 and can reach up to nearly 24%.
