The line graph illustrates the comparison of the sales of three different types of books (children’s book, adult fiction, and educational books) from 2001 to 2006 in one country. The units are measured in millions of dollars.
Overall, it is apparent that while the sales of children’s books followed an upward trend, the sales of adult fiction books saw a downward trend. On the other hand, the sales figures for educational books had some fluctuations but at the end of the period, the sales increased.
The sales of the children’s books increased significantly and achieved top position than the other two categories of books. The children’s books sale were stood at just above 30 million dollars in 2002, increasing gradually over the next five years and reached 55 million dollars in 2006, higher than the other book sales. However, there was a gradual decline in the book's sales was observed for the adult fiction, which was about 45 million dollars in 2002, fluctuated over the period given and hit a low of 30 million dollars in 2006.
The educational books’ sales were around 25 million dollars in 2002, which increased by approximately 6 million dollars in 2003 and went down until 2005, after that the sales saw a steady rise and at the end of the period it was just over 30 million dollars.
