Essay topics:

The graph below shows the types of transport used by tourists who visited New Zealand from five countries in 2004. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.

The bar chart illustrates the comparison between the proportions of four different vehicles utilized by tourists who visited New Zealand from Britain, Germany, Japan, Korea, and Australia in 2004; namely, airplane, coach, car, and ferry. Overall, the data shows that the Japanese prefer to travel by air the most, while other countries have the highest percentage of car travelers.

Looking at the graph, it can be seen that 60% of British, approximately 50% of German, 50% of Korean, and 45% of Australian tourists visited various places in New Zealand by car. The Japanese, on the other hand, was not fond of driving; only 25% of them used this mode of transportation. However, Japanese visitors were most interested in air travel. 55% of them opted for an airplane to immigrate to New Zealand, followed by British, Korean, and German visitors, in turn of 45%, 30%, and 25%, respectively. Australian tourists used air travel as their least preferred vehicle to discover New Zealand, at around 11%.

Fairly similar to air travel categories, the Japanese preferred coaches as the second-rate vehicle to visit New Zealand, at 52%, which is the highest proportion in this article. 40% of Korean travelers used coaches, twice as much as the figure for British tourists, which is equal to the corresponding percentage for Germany, at 20%. The figure for Australian travelers was ranked last, at only 8%. Finally, nearly 48% of German tourists and 35% of British tourists were fond of ferries, whereas the proportion of tourists from Japan, Korea, and Australia who used ferries as a means of transport was less than 15% in each case, at roughly 10%, 8%, and 15%.
