The line graph compares how many million tonnes of acid raid exposed by 4 different industries in England from 1991 to 2007.
Overall, it seems that most of acid rain emissions in these sectors diminished over this period, with a noticeable exception of the stability in the data of transport and communication.
In 1991, utilities produced the largest amount of acid rain, standing at around 3.4 million tonnes, which was dramatically higher than that of the remaining. Other industries ranked second with over 2 million tonnes in its acid rain output. The figures for the remaining sectors were just only approximately 600.000 tonnes.
However, electricity, gas and water supply reduced their acid rain emission significantly to only 0.5 million tonnes during the period shown. Although other sectors tried to cut their acid rain disposal level to only 1.2 million tonnes, its figure was the highest in 2007. After a slight growth to 1 million tonnes of acid rain emissions, transport and communication sector ended up at around 700.000 tonnes. In terms of household category, it emitted the lowest amount of acid rain over the period, continuing decline gradually at only 200,000 tonnes in the final year.
