The graph below shows UK air pollutants, measured in million tonnes, from three different sources between 1990 and 2005. Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph provides information about air pollution in the UK. The data was measured in million tonnes and the data generated from three different sources (transport, industry, and household) from 1990 and 2005. Overall, it is apparent the number of air pollution significantly decreased throughout the years with industry responsible for the biggest source of pollution and household activities accounting for the least.

To begin with, the amount of pollution resulting from the industry sector was about 5.8 million tonnes, and then it dropped significantly to approximately 2.5 million tonnes in 1996. After that, the figure decreased slowly in the following years, finishing at just about 1 million tonnes in 2005. The number of air pollution resulting from household activities was about 1 million in 1999, experiencing a slow decrease during the period and finishing at just about 0,1 million tonnes in the final year. Additionally, the amount of pollutant released to the air by the transportation sector was stable throughout the time. Initially, the figure was about 1 million tonnes and the figure experienced negligible changes between 1990 and 2005, ending the period as similar as the beginning of the reported year.

In total, the number of pollutants released to the air in 1990 was about 7 million tonnes, experiencing a sharp decline in the following years and in 2005, only about 3.1 million tonnes of pollutant was released to the air.
