Overall, the unemployment rates for France were quite stable compared to Spain's unemployment rates, which experienced some periodic fluctuations and it is expected to increase by 2020.
Looking in details for unemployment rates of France, it recorded at close to 6% in 2000. This unemployment rate declined slightly to reach at about 5% in 2005 before it reached at 7% in 2010. This rate continued by 2015 and it is predicted to be the same until 2020.
In contrast, Spain had the lowest unemployment rates in 2000 of about 2.8%. However, this experienced a rapid incremental trend to reach at 4% in 2005 and 10% by 2010 before it recorded at its highest point of 13% in 2015. From 2015 to 2020, the unemployment rates for Spain are expected to decline to reach at close to 11%.
