The graph below shows US consumers'average annual expenditures on cell phone and residental phone services between 2000 and 2011.
The line graph compares the average yearly that US people spending on cell phone and landline phone services over a period of 10 years.
Overall, it is clear that the trend of using landline phone services was dropped significantly. By contrast, consumers spent budget on cell phone services was dramatic risen at the same time. It is noticeable that in 2007, expenditure on mobile phone services overtook that for residential phone services.
As can seen that the amount of money was spent on residential phone services decreased sharply. In 2001, there was nearly $700 sent on landline services. This amount was significant higher than that of money consumed on handset services. However, this figure was went down and hit a low of only $400.
Turning to the remaining cell phone, we can see that even not many people spent money on it at first. But this trend become popular. More and more consumers expenditure money on cell phone services throughout the period shown. And mobile phone services surpassed that of residential phone services in 2007. This amount continuous claimed and reached its peak of nearly $800 at the end of the time.
