The graph compares employment rates in three sectors of the economy in the UK,2000-2010.
The line graph illustrates data about the percentage of people who were employed in three sectors in the UK,over a ten-year period 2000-2010.What stands out from the graph is that there was a downward trend in the proportion of people who employed in the private sector, while the figures for the public and self-employed sectors experienced an upward trend over the period in question.
Looking at the details, the share of people in the public sector remained stable at about 38% in the first three years. After that there was a considerable rise to just under 50%in 2004.Despite falling to by around 5%,but the figure then recovered in 2008,after which the proportion increased slightly to approximately 51% in 2010.This meant that It had the highest rate of the three sectors in that year. The share of self-employed sector was in a similar trend. The trend witnessed a fluctuation between 18% and 21% in the first half of the decade. After the percentage had rose remarkably,it levelled off in the last two years.
By contrast, the share of people in the private sector started at the highest point of 48% in 2000.In 2002,the proportion declined markedly to roughly 41%,at which point it levelled off until next year.Following this, there was a steady decrease over the second half of the period to reach its trough of 20% in 2010
