The given line graph illustrates the amount of money spent on books in four European countries, namely France, Italy, Germany, and Austria over a period of 10 years starting from 1995.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount of money spent on books in all mentioned countries saw an upward trend over the period shown. Moreover, the figure for Germany was highest.

There was a slight rise of 10 million dollars in the amount of money spent on books in Germany from 1995 to 1999. In contrast, it dropped slowly from 1999 to 2003 and then in terms of 2005, a rapid rise was witnessed. On the other hand, in France, there was no fluctuation, the amount of money spent on books went up slightly by 30 million dollars during a 10-year period, starting from 1995.
In Italy, the amount of money spent on books rose consecutively from 50 million to 55 million dollars from 1995 to 1997 although the year 1999 witnessed a slow decrease of 10 million dollars. Then a slight rise was seen from 1999 to 2005. It can be seen that in terms of France, the year 1999 witnessed a slight rise of 10 million dollars in the amount of money spent on books. Then, although it stayed unchanged until 2001, with significant growth of 30 million was seen in the amount of money spent on books over a period of four years, starting from 2001.
