In 2001, cell phones was not popular at allso we can see their services started at just over 200 dollars. however, as time went on, mobile phones became more popular thanks to their portable size compare to the old, clumsy residential phones. therefore the annual spendings then gradually but signigficantly increased at the rate of a about 70 dollars/year, exceeding residential phones in 2006 and reach the peak in 2010 at over 750 dollars. Within 10 years, the cost for a year of cell phone service had increased by 550 dollars.
On the other hand, residential phones, while popular in the years prior to the graph, steadily lost its population the cell phones. This trend can be seen by the numbers on the graph. In 2001, the yearly spendings for residential phones were just shy of 700 dollars. 10 years later however, the numbers steadily declinds to just over 400 dollars, 300 dollars less than cell phone services.
